1.
FLEX IDT SCHEDULING. All Flex IDT drills must be approved and scheduled
in advance.
“Unit COs must coordinate FLEX IDT
schedules as far in advance as possible with supporting NRAs to prevent pay and
billeting problems.”
2.
FLEX IDT REPORTING. Forward
drill paperwork to the CO or designated representative within 2 working days.
“Drilling Reservists and members of
the VTU are expected to provide a completed IPR (NAVRES 1570/22) to the unit CO
within 2 working days after completion. The unit CO has 3 working days to
forward the completed Individual IPR (NAVRES 1570/22) to the NRA for
processing.”
3.
All JTRU members must schedule their IDT drills Flex Drills if planning
to be absent during a drill weekend. JTRU
leadership must be notified and drills must be re-scheduled prior to Sunday
afternoon of drill weekend. If you
don’t know the dates to which you will reschedule your IDT drills – as may
be the case for our watch standers – your drills will be rescheduled to the
end of the FY. When you’re ready to use them simply pull them forward. You can
pull drills forward; you cannot pull drills from the past.
4.
FLEX IDT SCHEDULE PROCESS. This is a two step process. Step one is the
request and approval; step two is the IPR (NAVRES 1570/22) documentation and
forwarding to NOSC St Louis for adjudication.
Step One. Send an email which copies all
of the following nine people: CAPT Ryan, CAPT Eich, CAPT Leblanc, CAPT Lemay,
CAPT Baldwin, CAPT McCAll, CAPT (sel) de Beaumont, CAPT (sel) Williams, CAPT (sel)
Daus. Specifically state your request.
Example – “I request to flex
drill 4 IDT Drills on 20 -21 OCT 07 in place of my normal drill weekend of 13-14
OCT 07.” I request to re-schedule two IDT Drills from 13 OCT 07 to 18 OCT 07.
I request to reschedule two IDT Drills from 14 OCT 07 to 19 OCT 07.”
The first 0-6 to receive your email
will approve it and forward to you, LCDR Morse and BM2 Smith (NOSC St Louis
RESPAY) with CCs to the other 0-6s (to avoid duplication).
Step Two. Once you’ve completed
your drills, as per current JTRU policy, have the IPR (NAVRES 1570/22) signed by
one of the authorized individuals designated on the AUTHORIZATION TO SIGN
INDIVIDUAL MONTHLY DRILL PERFORMANCE FORMS (NAVRES 1570/22) FOR UNITED STATES
TRANSPORTATION COMMAND DETACHMENT 118 (USTRANSCOM DET 118) and ensure that it is
forward it to the NOSC for adjudication within 2 days of completion. Step Two is identical to current JTRU practice however the
timeline for forwarding the paperwork to the NOSC will be strictly enforced. You
have two working days to get it signed, and we have three working days to get it
to the NOSC. In most cases you’ll need to fax the document to an 0-6 for
signature. It’s imperative that you call the 0-6 prior to faxing the IPR to
ensure immediate processing.
